\u201cLap\u00adi\u00addar\u00adi\u00adum\u201d is a site-spe\u00adcif\u00adic art work cre\u00adat\u00aded in the Rhine Val\u00adley of Grisons amidst quar\u00adries and grav\u00adel pits. It focus\u00ades on stone as a mate\u00adr\u00adi\u00adal and myth-enshroud\u00aded cul\u00adtur\u00adal asset. The work traces the trans\u00adfor\u00adma\u00adtions of stone, from its geo\u00adlog\u00adi\u00adcal for\u00adma\u00adtion in the moun\u00adtains, to its extrac\u00adtion in quar\u00adries and its use in build\u00adings, to its demo\u00adli\u00adtion and reuse. This process is cap\u00adtured in a series of stone sculp\u00adtures con\u00adceived as a record\u00ading medi\u00adum of exist\u00ading traces. Using an archae\u00ado\u00adlog\u00adi\u00adcal method \u2013 with the help of clay, plas\u00adter and sil\u00adi\u00adcone rub\u00adber \u2013 traces of pro\u00adcess\u00ading and trans\u00adfor\u00adma\u00adtion of the stone were cast in dif\u00adfer\u00adent places: in local quar\u00adries (traces of extrac\u00adtion), in old build\u00adings (traces of use) and recy\u00adcling yards (traces of debris). From these, molds were made for stone sculp\u00adtures, in which this trans\u00adfor\u00adma\u00adtion finds a con\u00adtin\u00adu\u00ada\u00adtion. For the sculp\u00adtures, which cap\u00adture var\u00adi\u00adous pre\u00advi\u00adous con\u00addi\u00adtions, were cast from the demo\u00adli\u00adtion mate\u00adr\u00adi\u00adal of an old house, which was crushed and ground in two grav\u00adel plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
