The book investigates the cult and spirit houses of Papua New Guinea as material, social, and cosmological formations. Combining cultural and social sciences with architectural and spatial research, it traces mythological landscapes, complex systems of signs, multi-species societies, and ritual practices. From these perspectives, the book develops the concept of “mythical constructions” as a way of thinking beyond modern Western modes of understanding and toward more-than-human worlds.
