The cycle “Borderlines” traces European borders barricaded with barbed wire, which were erected during recent years, in a scale of 1:50,000 in the medium of steel. Thus, a compendium of three-dimensional sculptural drawings is compiled that captures the process of the territorial fortification of Europe. The spatial imprints of social, political and ideological attitudes are charted in a set of abstract lines, seemingly emphasizing purely ornamental qualities, but at the same time mapping the current territorial fortification of the European continent.
